Lighthouse, the children's ministry of Christ Church, has the goal of strengthening the family and drawing children into life-changing community. Lighthouse is “the place kids want to be!” Parents enjoy bringing their children and kids love coming because of our five values:
- Family Centered - our program content covers topics important to families that value their children knowing, loving and serving the Lord.
- Relevant Teaching - age-appropriate Bible lessons are creatively presented by volunteers gifted in teaching and drama.
- Small Group Shepherding - Each week children meet with their peers. Through small groups relationships are built with other children and caring adult leaders, Bible truths are applied, and life-changes take place.
- Safe - children are safe physically and emotionally.
- FUN - children want to come and bring their friends to the place they have fun!
At both our Sunday morning services we offer childcare/programs for Infants-4th grade. If you are a first time visitor, please visit here for more information. We invite you to have your children participate in these fun and educational activities:
Family Road Map
Christ Church Lake Forest has developed a practical but God-centered road map for families to travel from infants through senior high. Parents typically have a budget plan a retirement plan but not many have a map for their child's spiritual growth and development. We have created 12 key mile-markers that the Children and Youth Ministries of Christ Church are committed to teaching and equipping parents to practice at home. View the expanded Family Road Map.
Pre-3s: Our Pre-3 department is a loving, fun and - most importantly - safe place for infants through two year-olds. A team of volunteers is committed to making Sunday morning enjoyable for our little ones as well as for Mom and Dad. We offer quality, age-appropriate Bible curriculum for our Walkers and 2's. Check us out in Building C (for "Children!") at 9:00 and 11:00am; we are excited to meet you and your family!
Early Childhood Department: The Early Childhood Department is located on the second floor of Building C. There you will find 3’s, 4’s, and Kindergarteners learning about God’s love. We offer a loving, safe, child-friendly environment that partners with parents to teach three Biblically based truths; God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my forever friend. The children gather for large group worship and singing with the Rejoice team, creative Bible teaching, and monthly memory verses. The hour closes with small groups, where relationships grow with a snack and prayer time. Small Talk is a take-home resource to assist parents in reinforcing this week's lesson. Click here for a downloadable copy.
Rejoice: Rejoice leads Early Childhood worship using popular Christian music. The team is led by an energetic team of adults.
Grade School Department: The Grade School Department offers a fun, child-centered program where Bible teaching is creatively presented in a large group setting with life-application taking place in a small group environment. Through the large group teaching and the small group, children are encouraged to understand three truths: I Need To Do the Wise Thing, I Can Trust God No Matter What, I Should Treat Others the Way I Want to Be Treated. Each month the lessons are centered on a virtue. The same virtue is also featured in the family program Route 6:6. Refrigerator Door is a take-home resource to assist parents in reinforcing this week's lesson. God Talk is a four-day devotional geared toward 2nd and 4th graders to foster a personal quiet time. Click here for downloadable copies of these resources.
Joyful Noise: Joyful Noise leads Grade School worship using popular Christian music. The team is led by an energetic team of adults and teens.
Special Needs Families: Our Harbor Ministry assists special needs children and families. Click here for more information.
