At Christ Church we encourage families, individuals and small groups to embrace our nearby Mission Partners and Agape Ministries by getting involved in community service and outreach opportunities.

The Christ Church family has the privilege of caring for people involved with Global Ministries:

• Missionary Care: Become a Mission Partner Advocate and encourage our mission partners throughout the year with cards, letters, e-mails, and care packages.
• Support and Fundraising: Organize activities to help send out Short Term Mission teams from Christ Church Lake Forest.
• Volunteer: Participate in one of the various service opportunities offered under our Local and Agape Partners below.

Local Mission Partners:

• Christian International Scholarship Foundation(CISF) provides us with unique opportunities to interact with international scholars and leaders. Their participation at Christ Church has enriched the lives of many and we continue to seek and develop strategies to serve the CISF families.
• Iglesia Emanuel, our sister church in Waukegan, offers opportunities for families, individuals and small groups to participate in cross-cultural outreach, tutoring, ESL and joint service opportunities.
• Journey Church, Iglesia Emanuel's church plant, in Waukegan is focused on reaching the younger generation for Christ through small groups, cross-cultural outreach, tutoring, ESL and joint service opportunities.
• Love INC (In the Name of Christ), Lake County, helps churches in Lake County reach out to those in our community who are in need. Its ministry to the local communities provides families, individuals and small groups at Christ Church with unlimited and enriching opportunities for outreach and community service.
• R.O.P.E. (Restoration and Options for People Excluded), a restoration home for ex-offenders in Waukegan, offers our church family opportunities to serve "the least of these" in various areas including GED tutoring, teaching life and trade skills, leading Bible studies and discipleship.
• Young Life Lake County invests in the lives of students throughout Chicago's North Shore and beyond, sharing with them the hope and joy of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Sailors for Christ (Campus Crusade for Christ – Military Ministry @ Great Lakes Naval Base) provides opportunities to teach Christian education classes to new recruits and for the facilitation of small group discipleship ministries and marriage seminars with sailors while at basic training.

Agape Ministries:

• Lake County Jail offers our church family opportunities to lead Bible studies, tutor and disciple individuals incarcerated in the Waukegan facility.
• Reading Power -- expanding to a second facility in 2004 offers our church family opportunities to tutor elementary-age children in various subjects throughout the year.
• PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter), Waukegan, Illinois offers our church family opportunities to provide and serve food for the homeless in the Waukegan area. Many individuals and small groups take advantage of this chance to act as Jesus' hands.
• Caris Pregnancy Centers has provided compassionate, confidential support for women facing unplanned pregnancies since 1985. Volunteer teaching and counseling opportunities (training is involved) are available at several of Caris's six locations throughout the Chicago-land area.

"What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." James 2:14-17
