The Women's Ministry Service and Outreach team welcomes volunteers who would love to work alongside us as we reach out to others in our local community and beyond.  Please contact Jo Lyons if you would like to get involved in any way, by donating just a small amount of time on an "as needed" basis or by becoming part of one of our regular service ministries. 

Our ongoing service opportunities are:

Lydia Home: Join us on a service team (older children and men are also welcome) one Sunday afternoon a month as we "hang out" with children who live at the Lydia Home (Irving Park Road, Chicago.)  It is our hope to establish a pattern of consistent caring while the Lydia Home administration is attempting to find foster homes for the children.  Other ways to get involved are by becoming a mentor to one of the kids, or by becoming a Safe Family for kids whose parents are in crisis.

Love, INC, located in Zion just 35 minutes north of Christ Church, serves people in dire need in Lake County by, among other things, providing transportation, helping with home repair, providing furniture, and even job counseling.  We women have supported Love INC by assisting in the office, handling phone interviews of prospective clients, and by staffing the store which is stocked with home accessories and clothing.  Being part of a team that sorts clothes, stocks shelves, or waits on clients, has blessed and humbled all who have participated.  We welcome and need others who want to "love their Lake County neighbors" in this way.  Commitments can be on a one-time or ongoing basis, with many times/dates available.

Short-term Mission Trips (US and abroad): Our goal is to reach out with the Good News of Christ and serve others around the world. These trips vary on an annual basis and your interest is always welcome.
