Frequently Asked Questions for Visitors Print E-mail

We are so glad you are interested in coming to church. We hope you will join us in discovering who God is and how He is relevant for our lives today. Here are a few questions that might help you know what to expect when you come for a visit.

When are the services? Christ Church has two services on Sunday morning — 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

How should I dress? Don't be concerned about what you wear. Dress the way you feel the most comfortable – business casual is what most people wear, but anything from jeans to suits and ties are okay too!

What can I expect when I come for the first time? Christ Church is a place where people come together to find answers to life’s challenges. You can expect to meet people, just like you, who are trying to understand who God is and explore His relevance in their lives. While we hope you meet new and old friends, we will not ask you to stand or make you introduce yourself in the service.

How do I get to the church? One great thing about Christ Church is its location—on the corner of Routes 60 and 43. We’re just east of highway 94 and just west of 41. You can’t miss us—the big white church with the white steeple!

Is there a way to learn more about the church? Yes, besides what you see on our website, we have a Hospitality Center in the church lobby with much more information about Christ Church. We also have a "Welcome Reception" every second Sunday of the month from 10:15 - 10:45 am in A106. Of course, you can always call us at 847.234.1001.

Why should I come to Christ Church? The answer is simple—because we care about you, about each other and about learning more about God. No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, you will feel welcome at Christ Church. Life can be tough and we believe that we are not meant to go it alone. We are meant to be in relationship—with others and with God. And, we are meant to help others along the way. That is what we seek to do, everyday.

Who do I talk to about having a wedding at Christ Church? Contact the office manager, Maria Fricano, at 847-234-1001 ext. 140 to discuss our wedding policies.

Do my children go to the service? We encourage you to let your children experience our wonderful Lighthouse Program (through 4th grade) or our Middle School groups—Club 56 or Wild Kingdom (7th -8th grades). These age appropriate programs are all about helping your kids worship and learn about God in relevant and meaningful ways.

If I was raised in the Catholic Church, will I be uncomfortable at Christ Church? Absolutely not. We are a non-denominational church that values loving God and loving others and welcomes people from all church backgrounds.

When do you serve communion? We serve communion on the 1st Sunday of each month. The communion table is open to all who proclaim Jesus Christ as their Savior.

Can I get a copy of the sermon? You can listen to the sermons online each week or you can purchase a CD in the lobby right after the service.
